Every size and colour deserves its own stock view.
Organise garment variants so the product name is not the only way to identify available stock. Review the particular combination that a customer wants.

Variant stock and size breakdown
A style total can hide the size your customer needs.
Garment inventory often needs a style, size and colour combination. Twenty shirts in total does not tell the salesperson whether blue in size L is available. Variant-level stock turns that broad total into quantities the counter can actually sell.
Prepare consistent size and colour values, then select the right combination on purchase and sale lines. Review a size-wise bill and compare its quantities with variant stock. This is useful when one customer buys several sizes of the same style and wants an understandable document.
The Additional Fields and Complex Bills chapter describes subitems such as Size, Colour, Article and Lot/Batch. Enter the variant breakdown on the line and check that its quantities roll up to the intended item total. The same distinctions should remain understandable on the configured printed bill.

Why show a size-wise breakdown on the bill?
It lets the customer compare the delivered assortment with the order. Staff can check a run of sizes together instead of interpreting many similar lines, while the underlying quantities remain tied to the correct variants.
Are subitems the same as calculated billing fields?
No. Subitems distinguish variants or lots under an item. Calculated fields add measurements or charges, such as area multiplied by a rate. Enable the combination that the trade actually needs.
What setup should I confirm?
Agree on a consistent naming and variant convention before entering or importing the opening stock.
